Dinner Dance FAQ's

Why are we having the Kelly’s Heroes- Dinner Dance Fundraiser?

· We are looking to have a fundraiser for Kelly Downing.  As many of you know Kelly is suffering from severe chronic Lyme disease.  Besides the constant daily pain that she deals with, she also has not been able to move her hands for months and still has trouble walking more than a few feet.  She is unable to go back to work and most of the medical expenses to help fight her battle against chronic Lyme are not covered by her health insurance.  This event is to support her and her family through this tough time and her long road to recovery.
· The goal of the Dinner Dance is to obviously raise money for Kelly and her family…but…it is also a time that we rarely get for family/friends/friends of friends to get together for a good time…drinks/food/dancing, etc.
· We look forward to putting on an event that will raise money for a family that is definitely in need and also an excuse to get everyone together for a great time which is exactly what Kelly would love.

What is the date and time of the event and how much does it cost to attend?

· October 12th, 2012 from 6:30pm-11:30pm and will be $65 per person in advance.

Where do I send my $65/person to attend the dinner dance?

· We accept cash/checks/debit card/credit card
· Donate Online:  http://www.kellyheroes.blogspot.com/ (click on the “Donate” button- you do NOT need a Paypal account)
· Send cash/check to:  P/C Durand 10 Appletree Green, Nashua, NH 03062
· Make checks payable to:  Kelly’s Heroes
· See next question/answer for IMPORTANT note to those that are coming to the Dinner Dance
· Please RSVP and send all money by 10/01/12

When I donate online or mail my donation...how will you know if I'm coming to the Dinner Dance?

· IMPORTANT:  We will need YOU to tell us if you are coming or not.
· When mailing cash or check include a note stating you are coming and the names of everyone attending.
· If you are paying online there is a link you can click on before confirming your donation amount to add a memo/notes and we need you to let us know you are coming and the names of everyone attending.
· If you do not let us know you or others are coming we will assume it is only a donation and not to reserve a spot at the Dinner Dance.

Where will the Dinner Dance be held?

· Crowne Plaza:  2 Somerset Parkway, Nashua, NH 03063
· Click here for directions to the hotel

How much is the Hotel Room for the night?

· $109 / night.  This is a discounted rate for our event.  Ask for the “Kelly’s Heroes” Rate.

What will the $65 cover?

· This will cover food (apps/buffet/desserts), room fee, cash bar, and music/dancing for the entire night!!!

What if I can’t make it to the event but still want to donate?

· We DEFINITELY want to encourage anyone that cannot make the event to still donate to the fundraiser.  See above for all the ways in which you can donate on line or send cash/check even if you can’t come to the dinner dance.

I have some tickets/auction/raffle items that I’d like to donate for the fundraiser.  Who and where can I send them to?

· Send tickets/auction/raffle items:  P/C Durand 10 Appletree Green, Nashua, NH 03062

What does it mean to be a Sponsor and how can I become one?

· On top of the $65pp donation for the dinner dance any person/group/company can also become a Sponsor of the Dinner Dance.
· The Sponsors will be recognized at the event for their contribution.
· For any company sponsorships we will also offer to display any marketing material for others to read more about their company while at the event.
· There will be 3 Levels of Sponsorship:  $1,000 Gold / $500 Silver / $250 Bronze
· The Sponsors can donate on line or by sending cash/check in the same fashion listed above for the $65 donation to the event.
· After donating at a Sponsorship level please email stephieann5@hotmail.com to discuss any company logo or anything else we could help to display at the dinner dance for your generous Sponsorship donation.

I know friends/family members that would like to come but weren’t on the original invite…can I invite them?

· DEFINITELY!!!  As long as they pay $65pp in advance and let us know they are coming to the event they are welcome to come and support the fundraiser and have a good time.  Use it as a good excuse to get away with friends/family or have a fun night out with friends/family you haven’t seen in awhile.

What are we having for food at the reception?

· Apps- Assorted cheese/cracker/fruit stations
· Pasta Station – Penne & Tortellini pasta, Marinara and Alfredo Sauces with all of your favorite accompaniments
· Salad Station – Make your own salad station featuring Baby Greens and Spinach
· Tournedos of Beef
· Dessert Station – Mousse Martini Bar

Will there be music and dancing?

· Yes, there will be music and dancing for the entire event.

How should I dress for the event?

· This won’t be an overly formal event but you’ll definitely want to dress nicely as if you were going to a wedding.  Hopefully we are all adults so we know how to dress for a nice event and make sure we use the iron.

Should I bring cash/checks or a debit/credit card to the fundraiser for auctions/raffles?

· We will have the ability at the dinner dance to take debit/credit card payments as well as take cash/check payments.

What will you have at the fundraiser for auction/raffle items?

· We will have everything from jewelry and gift certificates to tickets to major sports events like Bruins/Celtics/Red Sox/Patriots, etc.  We will even have an auction for a trip to Florida!!!  Don’t forget we will take debit/credit card payments as well so you don’t have to worry about not having cash or a check on you.

I have additional questions that aren’t listed here.  Who can I contact?

· For any questions please contact:  stephieann5@hotmail.com

About Kelly's Heroes

Kelly's Heroes was a group established in support of Kelly Downing and her family.

Kelly Downing was diagnosed earlier this year with Chronic Lyme disease which has left her partially paralyzed and totally disabled from work as an intensive special needs teacher.  Kelly receives daily treatment in an effort to win this battle and regain her life as Josh’s devoted wife and energetic/loving mother to Tyler and Ryan.
With your support, Kelly can continue to receive the necessary medical treatment in her daily battle against this terrible, yet treatable disease.  This family needs your help and support.  Kelly’s spirit and determination remains strong; however the necessary doctor visits and the length/amount of treatments required for Chronic Lyme disease are often uncovered by insurance companies.
Let’s all stand together in support of this incredible woman who is determined to win this fight.
When life gives you lemons (or Lyme), God gives you Heroes!!!
